The University of Windsor invites = applications for three=20 tenure-track faculty positions in the School of Social Work. The = proposed=20 start date is July 1,=20 2010 with appointment at = the ranks of=20 Assistant and Associate Professor. These=20 positions are subject to final budgetary approval. =

The School = of Social=20 Work at the University of Windsor is involved in an exciting new = expansion=20 of its unique programs, which builds on its long history as a = leader in=20 social work education in southwestern Ontario. The Bachelor of = Social Work=20 (BSW) program, the first in Canada, has a generalist practice = orientation=20 and offers four degree options. Students can complete a four-year = BSW=20 degree; a two-year post-baccalaureate BSW degree; a combined BSW = and=20 Women=92s Studies degree; and a four-year BSW and Diaspora Degree. = As well,=20 the School of Social Work offers an Honours Degree in Disability = Studies=20 in collaboration with the Department of Psychology. At the = graduate level,=20 the School offers a one-year advanced standing degree for BSW = degree=20 holders and a two-year degree for students holding a = four-year/honours=20 undergraduate degree in a related social science discipline or = helping=20 profession leading to the degree of Master of Social Work (MSW).=20 Commencing in fall 2009, the School of Social Work will be = offering a dual=20 MSW and LLB (Law) degree opportunity and in fall 2010, launch a = Doctor of=20 Philosophy (PhD) in Social Work emphasizing civic engagement. Assistant Rank=20 Requirements:
Applicants = should hold=20 a doctoral degree in Social Work by the date of appointment. = However,=20 candidates who are ABD will be considered. In addition, applicants = must=20 hold a Master of Social Work degree and a minimum of two years = post degree=20 practice experience. The ideal candidate must show evidence of = commitment=20 to service and demonstrated or potential ability to conduct = research,=20 publish and teach effectively. Applicants will be expected to = teach=20 courses in two or more areas of social work practice, human = behaviour and=20 the social environment, social policy, and research. In addition,=20 candidates are expected to work=20 collaboratively with = faculty, staff,=20 students, and members of the community to foster scholarship, = research,=20 program development, and professionalism.

Associate Rank Requirements:
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Social = Work. In=20 addition, applicants must hold a Master of Social Work degree and = a=20 minimum of two years post degree practice experience. Applicants will be expected to=20 have achieved significant results in and demonstrate a continued=20 commitment to teaching, research, peer reviewed publication, and=20 service. = Applicants will be expected to teach courses in two = or more=20 areas of social work practice, human behaviour and the social = environment,=20 social policy, and research. In addition, candidates are expected = to=20 work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and = members of=20 the community to foster scholarship, research, program = development, and=20 professionalism.
