Welcome to GADE

The Group for the Advancement of Doctoral Education in Social Work is an organization made up of over 80 social work doctoral program directors worldwide who represent their member Universities. Founded in the late 1970s, GADE primary purpose is to promote rigor in doctoral education in social work, focusing on preparing scholars, researchers, and educators who function as stewards of the discipline.

GADE Award for Educational Leadership in Doctoral Education - Professor Kia J. Bentley, Ph.D., LCSW, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work

GADE Student Award for Teaching in Social Work - Cindy Dubuque-Gallo, LMSW, MAT University of Connecticut School of Social Work

GADE Student Award for Leadership and Service - Alicia Mendez, MSW, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Social Work

Sincere thanks to the GADE Awards Committee for their careful review of the outstanding application pool and to all of the nominators for taking the time to elevate the work of social work faculty and doctoral students. The Awards Committee was extremely impressed by the quality of applications and the exciting work represented in the nomination packages. 

The Doctoral Student Connection Breakfast, hosted by CSWE and GADE, will be held Friday, November 5, 2021, at the CSWE APM. GADE awardees will be honored at the breakfast. We hope you will join us for this opportunity to recognize and celebrate their accomplishments.
